Emergency Situations

A person in crisis should not be left alone. Remain with the person in crisis and call for assistance. 

Emergency situations include:

  • Behaviours of concern (threatening self-harm or harm toward others, student is unable to be calmed, mood changes, etc.)
  • Substance or alcohol abuse or misuse
  • References to suicide (direct or indirect references)
  • Sexual assault

If an emergency takes place from 8:30am-4:30pm Monday–Friday:

  • Student Resource Centre/Counselling Services: Ext.1246 (from any campus phone), or 902-585-1246 from any off campus phone or mobile phone.

After-Hours Emergencies
If an emergency takes place outside of weekday business hours:
